1. Local Processing

Videos you upload are processed locally in your browser. Subtitle editing, previewing, style customization, and video export all happen on your own device. Your video frames are never uploaded to our servers.

If you close SnapSubtitles without exporting your work, any unsaved progress stored in your browser may be lost.

2. Transcription Services (Third Parties)

When you use AI transcription, your browser extracts compressed audio from the video and securely sends it to third-party transcription providers to generate subtitles. Only the audio track is transmitted. Your video file is never uploaded.

These providers process the audio solely for transcription purposes and do not store it permanently. Data is deleted automatically after processing. SnapSubtitles does not store your audio or transcription results on our servers.

We do not use your audio, video, or subtitle data to train AI models.

3. Account Information

SnapSubtitles requires an account to use transcription and paid features. When you sign up, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Password (stored securely hashed)

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We also record your IP address, browser type, and language preference during registration.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

When making a purchase, Stripe may collect:

• Name
• Email
• Billing address
• Payment method information

The selected payment provider handles this data under its own privacy policy. We store order records, subscription status, and credit balances in our database.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

SnapSubtitles uses cookies and local storage to:

• Maintain your login session
• Remember your language preference
• Store editor project data in your browser (IndexedDB)
• Save your analytics and advertising consent choice

With your permission, analytics and advertising services may also store cookies or browser identifiers for measurement, attribution, and advertising personalization.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, optional analytics and advertising storage is denied by default. Our banner lets you accept or reject all optional storage with equal effort. Your choice is saved in your browser and passed to Google through Consent Mode v2 and to Microsoft Clarity through its ConsentV2 API. If you reject optional storage, supported services may send limited cookieless measurement signals but do not receive permission to store analytics or advertising cookies.

6. Analytics and Advertising Measurement

We use analytics and conversion measurement to understand how visitors use SnapSubtitles and whether our advertising leads to sign-ups or purchases. Depending on configuration, these services may include:

• Google Tag Manager to load configured measurement tags and route product events
• Google Analytics 4 to measure pages, product usage, sign-ups, and purchases
• Google Ads to attribute conversions and support remarketing or advertising personalization when consent permits
• Microsoft Clarity to understand page interactions and diagnose usability problems
• Plausible to provide privacy-focused traffic analytics

These services may receive your IP address, approximate location, browser and device information, page URL, consent state, and product event data. We do not send your video, audio, subtitle text, file name, feedback comments, payment session ID, or raw account ID through the analytics data layer.

For a completed purchase, the data layer may contain the purchase value and currency, an internal order number used to prevent duplicate conversion counts, and a SHA-256 hash of your normalized email address for Google Ads enhanced conversions. Your plain-text email address is not placed in the data layer. Google tags are configured to use advertising and user-provided data only when the relevant consent state permits it.

7. Your Data, Your Control

• Your videos and subtitles remain on your device except during transcription.
• Transcription audio is temporary and not stored on our servers.
• Editor project data lives in your browser's local storage and can be cleared at any time.
• Account data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion by contacting us.
• Payment records are retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
• You can accept or reject optional analytics and advertising storage when the consent banner appears.
• You can withdraw a saved choice by clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser, then reloading the page to choose again.

Depending on your location, you may also have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

SnapSubtitles is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and access controls to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
